Tourism and Hotel Development

The European Office of the Government of Western Australia works closely with Tourism Western Australia Investment Attraction, the Western Australia tourism industry and potential investors to explore opportunities and expand tourism development across the State.

Western Australia (WA) has been experiencing strong economic growth, and whilst traditionally known for its mining and resources sector, recognition is growing of the State’s tourism industry as a key economic driver. WA is unique and offers some of the world’s most bio-diverse and best nature-based tourism experiences. As a ‘window’ to the Asia-Pacific region, the business environment is highly regarded by the international business community.

Confidence in WA’s tourism industry is strong with tourism development and infrastructure improvements planned around the State in the next few years.

In particular, the Perth hotel market has experienced the strongest sustained period of room rate growth and occupancy out of the ten major Australian hotel markets and continues to enjoy double digit RevPAR growth anticipated to continue over the next five years. Listings of the current range of CBD and regional accommodation development opportunities are readily available on the Tourism Western Australia website or by contacting us directly.

Landbank is a Tourism WA initiative which has been created to ensure that there is an adequate supply of tourism development sites to meet the future needs of the tourism industry in Wa. The Landbank initiative will make it easier for the right developer with the right development philosophy to invest in tourism accommodation development in Wa.

Detailed information and advice relating to tourism investment in Wa, CBD and regional development opportunities, facilitation processes, the Landbank initiative and industry contacts can be found on the Tourism WA website or alternatively by contacting us This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
