Oil and Gas event breaks records for third year

AOG-2011

In a sign of the continuing strength of Western Australia’s energy industry, the Australasian Oil & Gas Exhibition & Conference (AOG) has posted record visitor and exhibitor attendance figures for the third year running. 2010’s key note address was given by industry leader and cross bench peer in the House of Lords, Lord Digby Jones who commented that the AOG “is the most important show in the most important industry in the most important oil and gas region in the world”

An unprecedented 11,248 visitors passed through the doors of AOG 2011 at the beginning of March – an increase of nearly 15 per cent on last year’s record-breaking event.

The Subsea Australasia Conference, which was again run in conjunction with AOG, also experienced outstanding attendance with 619 delegates converging on Perth to hear from a host of local and international experts.

“We are delighted to report record breaking efforts across so many aspects of AOG 2011. Our exhibitor numbers were also especially pleasing – with more than 450 oil and gas leaders filling all six pavilions at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre – and a strong demonstration of the interest in the oil and gas industry in Western Australia,” said Bill Hare, Event Director, AOG.

Among the exhibitors at this year’s exhibition were industry heavyweights such as Woodside, ConocoPhillips, Technip, Mermaid Marine, FMC Technologies, Aker Solutions, Clough Helix, GE Oil & Gas, Cameron, DOF Subsea and Subsea 7.

AOG 2011 also played host to exhibitors and delegates from some 22 countries, including contingents from the UK (over 40 representatives and delegates), USA, Norway, China, Italy, Holland (28 delegates and representatives), Denmark, France, Russia (8 representatives) and Germany.

“We’ve grown to become one of the most international exhibitions in Australia and we look forward to the planning and development of next year’s event with the aim of achieving further growth in terms of exhibitors, visitors and overseas participation,” said Mr Hare.

AOG 2012 will again be held in Australia’s oil and gas capital of Perth from 22-24 February. For more information visit www.aogexpo.com.au
